Entry requirements for applicants with a National Progression Award (NPA) in Built Environment within a Global Infrastructure. We accept the National Progression Award in Built Environment within a Global Infrastructure (SCQF level 6), in combination with SQA Highers, for entry to our undergraduate degrees in civil and environmental engineering subjects. We accept this NPA for entry to:Civil Engineering BEng (Hons) H200Civil Engineering MEng (Hons) H203Structural and Fire Safety Engineering BEng (Hons) HH21Structural and Fire Safety Engineering MEng (Hons) HHF1Structural Engineering with Architecture BEng (Hons) H2K1Structural Engineering with Architecture MEng (Hons) H2KC Grades You can use the NPA Built Environment within a Global Infrastructure to meet the grades listed in either our standard or minimum entry requirements. Your NPA Built Environment within a Global Infrastructure will take the place of one SQA Higher qualification and will be treated as equivalent to a grade B at Higher. Only one NPA will be considered on an application, alongside at least three SQA Highers. We will not consider a Higher and an NPA in the same subject separately. Required subjects You cannot use this NPA to take the place of a required subject. For example, if the entry requirements for a degree specifically state that you must have achieved grade A in a Higher Mathematics, and a grade B in one of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computing Science or Engineering Science, this NPA would not be accepted as a replacement for a grade B in one of the science subjects. You can find the specific subject requirements for your degree in the degree finder: look for the "required subjects" section under the entry requirements.Degree finder SQA National 5s required for entry We require you to achieve some specific subjects to at least National 5 level. SQA National 5 requirements Entry requirements You should have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) our entry requirements, including required subjects, for the degree programme you have applied for. For some degree programmes, we may be able to consider all applicants who meet the entry requirements. For highly selective degree programmes we may only be able to consider candidates who exceed the requirements, as these degree programmes attract many highly qualified applicants. You can use our degree finder to find entry requirements.Degree finder This article was published on 2026-01-07
