Book now: 25 October Open Day

Book your place at the undergraduate Open Day taking place at the University on Saturday 25 October 2025.

Programme

View the programme for our October Open Days.

We offer the same activities on both dates, with the exception of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Booking is required

You must book a place to attend our Open Days in 2025.

Reserve a place for activities

When booking, you should also reserve a space to any activities you want to attend, including:

  • talks
  • taster lectures
  • labs
  • most subject area tours

Information desks are not listed in the booking form. These are open to all visitors between 10am and 4pm.

Accompanying guests

Some activities will be very busy. If there is limited space, we will prioritise prospective students.

For this reason, your booking for a talk, taster session or tour ensures that the student associated with the booking will be able to attend. However, guests may not always be able to accompany them. We will allocate any remaining spaces on a first come, first served basis on the day.

If you are a guest of a student registered for the Open Day, you are welcome to speak with staff at information desks and visit University facilities.

The guest policy for the Veterinary Medicine visit on 4 October is different. Refer to the booking form and your confirmation email for details.

Join waitlists in case spaces open up

Some activities have a very limited capacity. If bookings reach capacity, we open a waitlist.

We recommend joining waitlists in case we are able to increase capacities closer to the day or have cancellations.

If a space opens up, your booking will be automatically updated to confirm you are off the waitlist and have a reserved place. You will be able to view your status at any time through your booking confirmation email.

Confirmation of booking within 2 hours

You should receive confirmation of your Open Day booking by email within 2 hours.

If you do not receive this after 2 hours, email us.

Email ug.recruitment@ed.ac.uk

Cancelling or changing your booking

If you need to cancel or amend your booking for the Open Day, follow the instructions in your booking confirmation email.

Getting proof of attendance

Once you check in at the Open Day, your status be updated to 'Attended' on your online ticket. This can be accessed from any of the emails we send you.

Due to the volume of visitors we receive at each Open Day, we are unable to provide prior proof of attendance.

If the event is cancelled

We will explore all options to avoid cancelling on-campus events. However, there may be rare occasions where events or sessions are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

We are unable to accept liability for any costs incurred by visitors (for example, travel and accommodation). Therefore, you may wish to consider travel insurance or flexible tickets.

Accessibility

When booking for the event, provide us with information about any specific accessibility requirements you have, and we will then make arrangements.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • accessible or Blue Badge parking
  • British Sign Language interpreter
  • assistive listening technologies
  • large print materials
  • access to quiet spaces
  • any other reasonable adjustments

We do not provide foreign language translation.

If providing these details within the booking form is not suitable for you, email us.

If you require Blue Badge or accessible parking, it is important that you let us know in advance so that we can arrange suitable campus access for your visit.
