Next event: 19 to 21 November. This annual event comprises 190+ live webinars covering our on-campus postgraduate programmes.

Who this event is for

The Virtual Open Days are designed for anyone considering on-campus postgraduate study at the University of Edinburgh who would like to find out more information about the programmes they are interested in.

I especially enjoyed the information about the specific degree programme I am applying to. I was even more inspired after listening to that session than I imagined. I didnʼt think I could be more eager to apply than I already was! For all sessions, the speakers were extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful with answering questions and directing viewers to links for more information.

What happens at the Open Days

The Virtual Open Days consists of live webinar sessions. There are:

  • webinars covering our masters and PhD programmes, with opportunities to hear from, and live text chat with, the academic staff that teach on them
  • webinars delivered by our professional services and student support staff who will outline the support available to you as a student at Edinburgh
  • live panel sessions where current students and recent graduates answer your questions and share their experiences
  • live text-chat sessions with Admissions teams where you can speak one-to-one with members of staff who can answer your specific questions

Although most sessions will take place on 19 to 21 November, there are a few that take place before or after the event.

The sessions will take place at UK local time, so check what time the sessions will take place in your local time zone.  

You will get the most out of this event by attending the live sessions, as you will have the chance to participate and ask questions.  

However, the event will also be recorded. If you register but cannot make the live event, you will be sent a link to these recordings so you can watch them in your own time.
