Veterinary Medicine visits

We offer a visit to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies' Easter Bush Campus, which includes a subject talk and a tour of the facilities. This must be booked in advance.

What this activity is

Our Veterinary Medicine visits include a subject talk and a tour of facilities, as well as an information desk where you can speak with staff.

We offer the option of a morning or afternoon visit:

  • Morning talk and tour: 10:10am to 12:40pm
  • Afternoon talk and tour: 1:10pm to 3:40pm
  • Information desk: 10am to 4pm

Who can attend

Prospective students and a maximum of one accompanying guest, booked in advance, can attend a Veterinary Medicine talk and tour at Easter Bush.

You must book this activity in advance through the Open Day registration form. Our Veterinary Medicine visits usually fill up very quickly.

Travel to the Easter Bush campus

Shuttle bus

Pre-booking is required.

A free Open Day shuttle bus service will run between the Central campus (Buccleuch Place) and our Veterinary Medicine visits at the Easter Bush campus.

Spaces on this shuttle bus service are reserved for prospective students and up to one guest if you included one when booking.

Arrive prior to your bus departure time in order to check in and board.

The bus will arrive back at the Central campus no later than 1:40pm from the morning visit and 4:30pm from the afternoon visit.

Parking at Easter Bush

Pre-booking is required.

You can book a parking space at Easter Bush for the duration of your Veterinary Medicine activities. It is not possible to park at Easter Bush for the whole day.

You should aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of your activities to check in.

Public transport

If you do not get a space on our shuttle bus, or prefer to use public transport from elsewhere in the city, Lothian bus services 15, 37 and 47B serve the Easter Bush campus.

If you are on the waitlist

Do not travel to the Easter Bush campus if you are still on the waitlist, as you will not be able to attend a talk or tour.

Your waitlist status

We will email you if space becomes available. You can also check your status using the Veterinary Medicine ticket link in your emails.

We strongly recommend that you do not join the waitlist for the alternative session time, as you will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist for the new time. It is not possible to be on both waitlists.

Live-streamed talks

For those who cannot get a place, we will live-stream the Veterinary Medicine talk to our Central campus at:

  • 10:10am to 11:10am
  • 2:30pm to 3:30pm
