CrossCountry promotion terms and conditions

Terms and conditions for the 20% CrossCountry discount valid for travel to the University's undergraduate Open Days on 4 and 25 October 2025.

  1. The 20% discount is available for CrossCountry Standard & First Class Advance tickets only which are exclusively for use on CrossCountry trains.
  2. First Class is available on routes operated by our Voyager trains. Please use the journey planner on the CrossCountry website to see services that offer First Class.
  3. To take advantage of the 20% discount PIN code promotion booking must be made by 13 October 2025 however travel can still take place after this cut-off date. Bookings made after 30 September cut-off date will be charged at full fare.
  4. The CrossCountry Advance tickets are only valid on the CrossCountry network - the tickets will not be accepted by other train operators. For details of the CrossCountry network, please see our route map.
  5. Avoid station queues by selecting an eTicket which can be sent via Apple Wallet, as a PDF on your phone, print at home or open it in the CrossCountry app.
  6. The 'CrossCountry & Connections' Advance tickets are not valid in conjunction with this promotion, even if the journey is made solely on CrossCountry trains.
  7. If part of your journey is with another operator, then you must buy a ticket for that part of the route.
  8. The discount is not available against other train company tickets or other fare types.
  9. The National Rail Conditions of Travel apply for the Advance discounted tickets through this promotion and for travel on all CrossCountry trains.
  10. The discount applies to both Adult and Child fares and are available on both Standard and First Class Advance fares.
  11. The 20% discount on Advance tickets is not combinable with any Railcards.
  12. CrossCountry Advance tickets are subject to availability.
  13. Please note that the PIN code shown in your e-mail can only be applied once for one transaction.
  14. Should an Advance ticket need to be changed the discount will become void. A further PIN can be requested to book new journey on the 20% Advance ticket offer subject to the cancelled PIN being included in the email to promo@crosscountrytrains.co.uk.
  15. The PIN code is only valid for bookings made within 30 days of receipt of your e-mail. PIN codes can only be issued once. CrossCountry will not take responsibility for any lost or deleted PIN codes.
  16. Where a PIN has expired a replacement PIN can be requested by emailing promo@crosscountrytrains.co.uk. A new PIN can only be issued subject to the expired PIN detail being included in the email for cancellation.
  17. A booking made with the PIN code can be for a maximum of 9 people travelling.
  18. The discount can only be applied to CrossCountry Advance tickets, the maximum number of tickets which can be purchased is 18 (nine x Advance tickets in the outward direction and nine x Advance tickets in the return direction).
  19. All tickets purchased in the transaction must be going from and to the same outward and return destinations.
  20. The date of travel must be the same for all outward journeys and the same for all return journeys.
  21. Bookings with more than one CrossCountry Advance ticket will generate a 20% discount per ticket.
  22. CrossCountry reserves the right to withdraw this offer or amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
  23. The cash redemption value of this voucher is 0.001p.
