Visiting the University is a really good way for you to find out more about what it’s like to study here and how the University works.
Whether you attend an open day or choose to arrange a visit in your own time, you are always welcome.
If you are considering studying with us, we highly recommend that you attend one of our Open Days. Nothing gives you a better idea of what it’s like to study with us than physically being here.
Open Days give you the chance to meet other mature students from similar backgrounds who share your aspirations. Many of our attendees tell us they find the Open Day experience inspiring for this reason.
We offer a seminar as well as 1:1 advice and guidance at the Open Day dedicated to mature students, where you can:
You can also attend talks on a wide range of topics, including:
We hold open days for undergraduates three times a year, one in June and two in the autumn.

If you are unable to attend one of our Open Days, you can visit the University through a student-led campus tour or a self-guided campus tour.
As a mature applicant, you are expected to meet our standard (or minimum, if relevant) entry requirements, unless you also meet our definition of an adult returner.
If you are an adult returner, we accept a range of alternative qualifications in place of our standard entry qualifications.
It’s important to be familiar with how the university defines an adult learner and the required time out from formal education. Upon discovering this, my heart sank. It felt like rejection, still, I wasn’t ready to give up. I enrolled on the part-time University Access Programme, I can honestly say it was the best step I could’ve taken. It gave me everything I needed to succeed at university. Access programmes are offered at many institutions, and that extra year is absolutely worth it: you'll start university fully prepared and re-familiarised with education.
If you would like to apply to any of our full-time undergraduate degree programmes, you need to do so through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
The UCAS system manages applications for undergraduate programmes at UK universities and colleges.
