We offer several different Summer School programmes, suited to many different interests. Each Summer School programme has its own application deadlines and criteria. Ensure you read each programme’s criteria carefully, and apply as soon as possible before the deadline to avoid disappointment.

Are you 16-18 years old and looking to broaden your academic and cultural horizons?
The University of Edinburgh’s Pre-University Summer School programme is designed to deliver a taste of what to expect from university life, while studying abroad at a prestigious UK university.
Students can choose from a range of two-week courses across a number of subjects. All courses are taught by experienced University of Edinburgh teaching staff and will take place on Holyrood Campus.

SUISS is one of the oldest and most prestigious summer schools in Britain. The summer school brings together students and academics who, irrespective of their national, religious, cultural or gender differences, share a love of literature and the arts.
SUISS is based at The University of Edinburgh, which offers students excellent educational facilities, the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful capital city of Edinburgh, and to explore cultural and historical sites across Scotland.
Taking place: 13 to 18 July 2026
Application deadline: 5 March 2026 at 12pm
Experience Edinburgh as a real student: explore subjects you’re interested in, take part in exciting social activities, receive expert support on your journey to higher education, stay in real halls of residence, and make lots of friends along the way. The Sutton Trust Summer School is designed to support high-achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
