The Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science (LFCS) continues to lead the way in the development of mathematical models, algorithms, theories and tools that probe the possibilities of computation and communication.

This Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) programme, jointly hosted by the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University, focuses on generation-after-next technologies for information processing in defence and security, spanning the entire range from hardware development to algorithmic AI development.

In this programme you will gain an understanding of the structure and behaviour of quantum hardware, software and applications, as well as the interactions between them.
