Annual tuition fee

The tuition fee shown in the table is for one year only.

If you are a research student, you will pay a fixed annual tuition fee unless you have a ‘home’ fee status.

How much you need to pay depends on the start date of your degree programme.

Home fees for PhD and MPhil degrees

The University sets the tuition fees for students with a 'home' fee status. In many cases this will be set by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) minimum fee rate, but some degree programmes will have fees which are different to the UKRI minimum. Because the UKRI rate is usually confirmed by the UKRI after the majority of fees are published, the home fee rate is usually confirmed later than the tuition fees for overseas/international students.

Your tuition fees may increase annually.

Additional programme costs

Additional programme costs are set by each school or college.

Costs for some of our degrees are variable. All costs will be listed in your letter of admission.

*Updated 7 November 2025 to clarify that the University sets the tuition fees for students with a 'home' fee status, and that this fee may increase annually.
